Weddings are something that is sacred and remarkable. As we glanced back at history, setting our visions farer and further into the past, where humans were first created and started their life in this tremendously beautiful sphere scattered with mind-soaring oceans, sky-scraping mountains and vivid yet mythical groves of abundant wildlife, there was nothing more everlasting like the bond of wedding that is responsible for joining 2 souls from different lives and pathways. Wedding is indeed a wonderful ceremony practised by humans from the past until now.
According to the bible, when god himself had created the world, he had filled the world with different types of beings that roamed the seas and the lands. His most proud and majestic creation is human. His reflection in which he brought to life from ashes and dusts were Adam and Eve. However, due to Adam and Eve’s treachery of stealing the fruit from the Tree of Wisdom, god had banished both of them from eternal life in his realm and left them to survive at a world we called today as Earth, with a maximum lifespan of a century old. Both of them then came together by the bonds of marriage under the witness of god himself. The Cave drawings also depict the legend about the origin of weddings and its creator, Nu Wa. Nu Wa is the ancient goddess of creation and fertility. She was regarded as a half-human, half-snake deity that moulded man from clay and repaired the leakage of the sky by using mystical stones of different colours. Legends said that, she had a brother called Fu Xi that had the same looks as her. Both of them are also lovers. They became husband and wife after making a wow under the witness of the sky and the earth which agree in their relationship. Nu Wa then created the system that join different men and women from different families. She herself became the first person in history to infatuate men and women to become husband and wife. The system is what we called today, as wedding.
Three months ago, I had witnessed a wedding ceremony of my cousin. She was the eldest daughter of one of my aunts and she had finally lay her arms at her dearly husband after thousands of dating and spending numerous years with her soul mate. In between that, they seldom turn away from each other and have cold fights. Instead of this, they become closer and understand more about each other after each argument. How romantic!
